I was sitting in the American Airlines lounge in Charlotte.
I saw him across the room; he was heavy set, had tattoos, a graying beard, and a shaved head. He was out of place in a sea of collared shirts, coiffed hair and roller bags.
Then I saw him light up with a beautiful smile. A few moments later two young girls – twins would be my guess – ran over to him and gave him a huge hug. He pulled out his phone and started taking selfies with them, making silly faces.
That moment captured the essence of dad’ness.
Dads, on this Father’s Day, set aside your cares and concerns and show your little ones your love by lighting up their life with the simple, the silly, a smile…and maybe even a selfie.
Cheers, dads.
